Penguin Downhill Racing

Over the past several years Blockdot has developed many games for Skittles, including the suite of Star Wars games for the Skittles/Episode III cross promotion. This time around, the game was to be downloaded by winners of Skittles and Starburst "Chillin for a Million" sweepstakes.

The game was Penguin Downhill Racing and the "download only" requirement meant that we were able to take advantage of a larger file size than normal for our casual games that typically had to be kept to less than 10M.

So we pulled out all the stops with voiceovers, animations, and music. In this fun little racing game an odd cast of penguins trying to grab as many Skittles and Starbursts as possible while still making it down the slopes faster than the listed time to beat.

Character development was my favorite part. The wide cast of characters included; Crush, the southern Cali surfer 'duuuude', Lil' Mo, the rap mogul from the bronx, and let's not forget Chip and Cube, the youngest contestants in the race that have the home field advantage.
