Houdini
A Picture Worth a Thousand Words
I've drawn since as far back as I can remember. I had my own private comic strip, "The Wizard of ID", at age 8. However, I never was really able to get the feel of painting. I was always much more comfortable with a pencil. I also felt much more at home with computer art. Dazzle Draw was one of the programs we brought home when we got our Apple IIe and I don't think there was a time during the life of that computer that the disk ever sat on the shelf much. Sure, we also had art programs and animation programs for the TRS-80, but the art was....well it took a decent amount of imagination when you're working with black and white graphics that were a quarter of an inch in size.
Ah, but sadly I had to leave Dazzle Draw behind and move on to other software. These days I use the typical tools of the trade for the most part; Photoshop, Maya, Z Brush, Painter and Freehand (yes, I still prefer Freehand, at least until Illustrator plays nicer with Flash).
These days, I usually spend more time in the 3d side of things, but I still get a chance to do some digital illustration in my free time.
