Could It Be Real?
As I said from the start, I began this project to learn what did it take exactly to create a collectible card game? What steps were involved? How complex was the process? But now we were looking at a pretty solid, and fun, game. Over 250 cards had been created and the rules had been fleshed out. The next question came pretty naturally, even if it was accidentally. "What if the game was real?"
So I did my best to track down those "Official James Bond People" whoever they were. The search led me through MGM and to a company named Danjaq that holds the license to James Bond. A series of phone calls led me to the person in charge of Bond licensing at Danjaq, and after a few phone calls I finally got a call back. We talked for a good 45 minutes about the possibility of a CCG and what made it different than standard trading cards. The conversation went very well and by the end of the conversation they were interested in seeing some proposed numbers.
Needless to say, I was pretty excited when I hung up the phone and the thought popped into my head, "This could really work."
